Promises from God I can claim

Claim positive promises from the Bible

Here are a few to claim:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives.  Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.  (Psalm 37:23,24)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your mind in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6,7

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirt of power, of love and self- discipline.  2 Timothy 1:7

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Psalm 46:1

For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you.  Isaiah 41:13

I now go forward, believing that with your help, I can do what it takes to catch up on my studies.  Although I am behind in my school work, I declare myself ahead of the curve in my trust and reliance on you.  I receive your affirmation and care for me and thank you for what you are doing and will do.

Amen.

About this prayer to catch up on studies

I wrote this prayer after hearing about a young woman in college who had missed a month of the semester due to a contagious disease. It reminded me how much stress and pressure students face when they get behind and try to catch up with their studies.

I realized that although many years have passed since I was in a high school or college setting, I still sometimes have anxiety dreams about being behind in school work and especially walking into an exam without remembering ever going to the class or even having the textbook.  Add to that the pressure of researching and writing papers, doing lab work and finishing group projects and we all prove every semester that the stress of having to catch up with studies is real.
