Dear Lord, I know now, what “real love” is.
It is what sustains me.
It is hope, in the midst of the impossible.
It is peace, genuine and full, that can’t be explained.
It is joy and choosing to be happy,
even when circumstances and daily events are in “chaos”.
It is “letting go” and trusting you totally.
It is forgiving myself and others.
It is YOU!
Thank you Father, for showing me your love, giving me hope,
and helping me, to not be afraid on this journey with you.

About this prayer
I wrote this in 2007, during a time of fear, anxiety and uncertainty in my life.
I have shared it with people over the years and they have told me it has eased their fears and given them courage to face difficult life situations.
The picture of the flower arrangement that illustrates this article is a spring prayer bouquet I made, to go with it. It represents God’s hope and renewal to all his people! May it bring healing to the nations!
Many times we do not recognize the blessings we receive while we are on our desert journey. We may feel fear and anxiety because we can’t see the path ahead clearly. But, opportunities are always waiting there, for God to allow us to trust him more and be refined through his love, grace and peace.
No, we may not be able to see things ahead, but God is doing that for us. Our responsibility is to trust his provision and continue to be his loving hands and feet, to others. While at the same time, doing it in safe ways that protect all.
We have all seen this in the daily events such as during the COVID 19 pandemic. People reaching out to others in ways we could only imagine before the pandemic. In being together more, we may be learning to do things better, and that in itself, is spreading the love of God.
May we hold each other up as we continue on this journey together. And may your time living through a situation that seems impossible be a time in history where you are a witness to God’s powerful and amazing grace!
