capture-eden-2Description
The Split or Eden’s split is a small coral enclosure of aquamarine water near the side of South Church Street in Georgetown on Grand Cayman Island. The name Eden’s Split comes from the family who resided near the location. This spot has been used for baptisms. There are several benches and historic markers on the Caribbean side of the street where you can sit and meditate on the meaning of baptism and the significance of this spot. It is near a popular diving spot where there are mazes of coral to explore.

How I used this place of prayer
I took several minutes to contemplate how places can become hallowed by the way we encounter God in them. What a wonderful place for a baptism!

Personal Tips
There’s no shade here, so come early and wear a sun hat. The coral rock is very sharp, so if you want to take a closer look, wear thick sole shoes. This spot is near the Eden Rock dive shop and there are several other interesting historical markers in this area.
