Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you that in all cultures the New Year means a chance for a fresh start and a new beginning. We pray especially for our Chinese brothers and sisters as they celebrate Chinese New Year that they will come into a deeper knowledge of You. Thank you for putting the hunger for better times ahead and the hope for renewal of goodness and health into every heart for your purpose of motivating us to find Jesus who is our Redeemer and friend. About this prayer
We were in Singapore during Chinese New Year when I visited St. Andrews Cathedral. I happened upon a group of people in one of their smaller meeting rooms who were finishing up a Christian church service. At the back of the room there were small bags of fruit and food to celebrate Chinese New Year. This Chinese New Years prayer is in the spirit of our brothers and sisters in Christ who find new and meaningful ways to enjoy the traditional celebrations of family gatherings in new ways appropriate to both their culture and their faith .
